Sustainable Farming includes much more than just being as organic as possible. At The Barn we are looking to elevate the quality level of coffee at the farm so that we, and other green buyers, will pay up for it.
We look at a wider range of issues that we find very important in running a long term, sustainable farm: Fair pay for all workers and pickers, health and housing, schooling, protecting pristine nature, water sourcing and filtration, wildlife, soil management, and following Specialty Coffee processing practices. All of this will make the farmer stronger and gives them the ability to build a sustainable business.
